Charanda Meyers was never one to refuse a dare.

But then the computer shocked the hell out of her.
“Warning! Warning!”
“Navigation system malfunction.”
“Abort! Abort!”
“Repair!” Charanda shouted.
“Unable to repair at this time.”
“Repair!” she shouted again, only to keep receiving negative answers from the computer.
Two hours later, the computer finally announced it had managed to repair navigation, but when she attempted to set the coordinates for Earth, it wouldn’t let her for some odd reason.
She tried a verbal command. “Computer, set a course for Earth.”
“Unable to comply. Unknown destination.”
Desperately, she tried to manually set the course again and failed. Something was still wrong with the navigation system.
She was lost in space, just like the classic TV series. Except she had no supplies, no clothing, no clue where she was exactly, and probably no food—and a ship that was malfunctioning.
That’s when her adventures began. Charanda Meyers became a wanted criminal on Earth, and Daring Char was hunted throughout two galaxies because of the price on her head.
Dead or alive.
Now, here she was, all these years later, caught because she had landed on her grandfather’s property and he had reported an alien invasion. Of course, he would think that because she had traded the small Falcon on the first planet she’d visited for a much larger ship that she had named Dashing Comet.
Soon as she had laid eyes on her grandfather, she knew from the expression on his face that he regretted reporting an alien craft, but it was too late for regrets.
Just like it had been too late for her to shift when she opened the hatch, eager to see her grandfather. She set foot on the steps, only to be greeted by the authorities and handcuffed. As soon as they had cuffed her, she saw them take her grandfather. Her heart had bled when they slapped handcuffs on his wrists. What was supposed to be a brief visit with her grandfather for a week or so had turned into a drama, a nightmare.
And once again, she made news headlines.
